In the second-last sitting week before the 2015 election, Fred Nile foreshadowed an amendment to the Bill.
This amendment is essentially a sunset clhttps://ourbodiesourchoices.good.do/our-bodies-our-choices/email-your-mlcs/ause- that is, the Bill would operate for 2 years and then be reviewed.
It has no effect on the undesirable aspects of the Bill. Sunset clauses can be introduced so the Bill doesn't seem permanent, but of course what could happen at the end of the two years would be another Bill to make the change permanent- a two-year experiment.
The impact of this Bill is insidious and may not be seen immediately, and the amendment has no effect on the part os the Bill that are problematic.
